Cable, strap or rope?
Trailer winches come with cables, ropes, or nylon straps. Cables provide great strength and are very secure. You can also double-line cables, giving you the strongest application, hands-down the best for larger boats. Straps are softer on the hands, yet provide good strength and power for medium and smaller sized boats. Some newer trailer winch models have a small rope instead of cable or strapping, which has been found to be exceedingly strong and weather resistant – great for float-on trailers.
All Powerwinch 12 volt electric trailer winches are made from the finest grade materials and designed for long lasting wear. Our heat-treated gear system provides smoother operation and resists corrosion. Powerwinch gears are designed with a clutch control for smoother power-in and easy freewheel-out operation. The efficient gear train system allows for more powerful pull with less amp draw. All of our winches use heavy-duty bearings for smooth, efficient power delivery, and the positive gear train lock prevents unwanted line slippage. The zinc plated frame and tough weather-resistant housing complete the package by protecting the unit from the elements. You can’t go wrong with a 12 volt electric trailer winch from Powerwinch! |

Why buy 12V?
Manual winches require your physical strength to pull and crank the weight of your boat as it fights gravity and slowly ramps onto the trailer. Slipping and falling, along with pulled and strained muscles, can create physical hazards that can ruin your boating experience.
With your Powerwinch 12 volt trailer winch, your boat can glide onto the trailer by simply pressing the remote and the work is done! Fast, easy, and safe! With the 12 volt electric trailer winch, you can use a pulley or block at the bow eye to double your pulling power (which doubles the cable and halves the retrieval speed). You can get more strength out of your trailer winch but it slows the retrieval speed by 50%. |

Why power-in/freewheel-out . . . or power out?
With the power-in/freewheel-out system, the electric motor pulls the boat onto the trailer yet has a clutch release that allows gravity to float the boat into the water with ease. If you need more control when deploying your boat, get the power-out 915 Trailer Winch. |

| *When calculating boat weight, be sure to include boat, motor, fuel, gear and supplies. If in doubt, select the next larger size. |
| *PLUG-IN POWER! Safety tip: Do not use your trailer winch as a tie-down. To prevent mishaps, use separate tie-downs to secure your boat on the trailer. Trailer winches should not be used as hoists. |
